Tequila shots per bottle, by country

A 750 ml bottle of 40% tequila pours 16.9 US shots of 1.5 fl oz, 30.0 UK singles of 25 ml or 21.1 Irish single measures of 35.5 ml. Each of those is about one standard drink or unit in its own country, and the US shot is the biggest because a US standard drink (14 g) holds more alcohol than a UK unit (8 g).

Counting tequila shots in a night

Shots add up in whole standard drinks. Three 1.5 fl oz shots of 40% tequila are 3.0 US standard drinks, and four are 4.0. In UK units, four 25 ml singles of 40% tequila are 4 units.

How many standard drinks are in a shot of tequila?

A 1.5 fl oz shot of 40% tequila is one US standard drink. A 25 ml UK single is 1 UK unit, and a 35.5 ml Irish single measure is one Irish standard drink in the HSE's guide.

How many units are in a 70cl bottle of tequila?

At 40%, a 70 cl bottle holds 28.0 UK units, by the NHS formula: 40 × 700 ÷ 1,000. At 38% it holds 26.6, so check the % vol on the label.

How many units are in a double shot of tequila?

Two 25 ml UK singles of 40% tequila are 2 UK units. Two 1.5 fl oz US shots are 2 US standard drinks, which is 3.5 UK units because the US shot is bigger.
